Abstract:

There have been several reported cases of inserted sewing needles in the brain as a type of child abuse. Based on review of the literature, only 22 cases have been reported so far. We present a new one, a 2.5- year-old girl, who had mild head injury due to fall, admitted for her repeated vomiting. Routine skull radiographs showed an about 5 cm needle in the right frontal lobe, near the midline. Fontanels were closed; thus, the needle was introduced when the fontanels were still open. The patient's companions took her out of hospital before any further assessment.

Abstract:

Introduction: From a long time ago, benefiting from technology has been an inevitable thing for human interests, which is born and based on science. It can be claimed that there is harmony between ethics, science and technology, which promote each other. In this article, the researcher discusses this harmony and compatibility. Material and Methods: The current review study was descriptive and using the study of sources and research keywords among the books and articles published in the databases of Thomson Information Institute, Science Direct and Pub Med. Conclusion: As science and technology continue to advance and become more integrated into our daily lives, ethical considerations become increasingly important. For example, the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) has raised questions about the potential implications of creating machines that can make autonomous decisions and take actions. If science and technology were considered as a tool, it should have been able to subjugate humans and influence all aspects of behavior and values. While it has become a problem that eventually becomes aligned with morality by applying reason, and people now seek help from it as a tool.

Abstract:

Since textbooks are one of the main learning resources in any curriculum, evaluating them for the benefit of the author and the audience, as well as their effect on students’,performance is an essential and valuable undertaking. This article evaluates “, English for the Students of Fabric and Garment Design and Sewing Technology”,book authored by Akram Nasher (2017), from English for Specific Purposes (ESP) books series. To this end, the book was evaluated based on Mahmoodi and Ahmadisafa’, s model (1393). Also, according to the model and for the purpose of gaining experts’,views in the field, the researchers conducted semistructured interviews with three Fabric and Garment Design experts from Art, Al-Zahra and Science and Culture Universities of Tehran. The results indicated that despite problems and shortcomings in the texts, exercises and activities, the book has enough educational adequacy and can be used as a source of Specific English. At the same time, however, it requires serious revision in order to eliminate the existing deficiencies. To fulfill this need, the researchers and experts have made useful suggestions.

Abstract:

Brain foreign bodies and penetrating missile injuries of the brain are familiar topics for Iranian physicians, especially after Iran and Iraq war. But it’s not easily plausible that there is a couple of sewing needles in the cranium of a patient who has not any history of head trauma or penetrating injury. The patient was a 42-year-old man who admitted in neurology ward of Mottahari Hospital in Urmia city with a complaint of headache.Brain computed tomography revealed some hyperdense foci with artifact shadows adjacent to them in frontoparietal region of the brain. Skull plain radiography indicated two sewing needles in his cranium. Probably these needles were inserted in cranial fossa at infancy when the fontanels were steel patent.

Abstract:

We herein introduced a 3 years old girl, who is a rare case of penetrating intracardiac damage severely induced by the abnormal movement of a sewing needle form the right lung toward the heart and entering in the right ventricle, which created Right Pneumothorax and right side bleeding. In clinical examinations, all vital symptoms were normal, and there was no sign of Cardiac tamponade, except reduced sound in the right lung base. Also, the external object was retained in the midclavicular line between the third rib, which was signifi cant. In the Simple posterior-anterior and lateral graphics of chest radio opacity linear image on the lower part of the heart, the shadow was also signifi cant. This is a rare case of abnormal needle movement from the right thorax to the right ventricular apex, which caused pulmonary problems. Following necessary diagnostic tests, a surgery was performed to remove the needle from the patient’ s chest without open-heart surgery and CPB. Finally, 3 days after the operation, the patient was discharged from the cardiac surgery service in good general condition.

Abstract:

PURPOSE: THE MOST IMPORTANT INCORPORATED COMPONENT OF CLOTHES IS THE FUSIBLE INTERLININGS. IF THE SHELL FABRIC IS THE COMPONENT THAT DIRECTLY INFLUENCES THE APPEARANCE OF THE CLOTH, THEN THE INTERLINING IS THE COMPONENT THAT IMPROVES THE AESTHETIC AND APPLICABLE PROPERTIES OF THE CLOTH. IN THE PRESENT STUDY, THE EFFECT OF SEWING AND FUSING OF INTERLINING ON STRENGTH BEHAVIOUR OF FABRICS IS INVESTIGATED. DESIGN /METHODOLOGY/APPROACH: THE EFFECT OF SEWING AND FUSING OF INTERLINING ON STRENGTH BEHAVIOUR OF FABRICS IS INVESTIGATED. COMPARISONS WERE ALSO MADE BETWEEN DIFFERENT SEAMS AND DIFFERENT TYPES OF INTERLININGS FOR THEIR EFFECT ON STRENGTH BEHAVIOR OF FABRICS. FINDINGS: STRENGTH HAS A GOOD TO STRONG CORRELATION WITH SEAMS USED FOR SEWN AND INTERLINING FUSED FABRICS. STRENGTH CHANGES WITH THE TYPES OF SEAMS USED AS WELL AS WITH THE INTERLINING USED. ORIGINALITY/VALUE: THIS PAPER PROVIDES INFORMATION ON THE EFFECTS OF SEWING (SEAMS TYPES) AND FUSED INTERLINING ON STRENGTH BEHAVIOR OF MEN,S SUITING FABRICS.

Abstract:

Most of previous researches about Iranian garments concentrated on showing common visual features of various eras and rarely tried to investigate the technical process of cloth design and showing the design of garment, how to cut and use of textiles and how to connect the pieces together to achieve the final result. This paper aims to show the designing process of Parthian garments as one of the richest series of Iran’s clothing design, through overall form of garments and how to shape the textiles to create them.Through historical documents and case studies, we’ve tried to recreate these garments, on a Standard figure to show the technology of that era. During reconstruction main shape, cutting and sewing various parts are shown in serial diagrams, to display design stages of popular fashion in men and women dress. Results show that Parthian clothing was the continued evolution of the Achaemenid clothing and was influenced by Greek art which only was visible in women’s clothing, especially in western areas of Iran. Design of Men’s clothings, were limited, which were included ofpantshangingfrom the belt composed of twoseparatelegand the upper cover, a simple tonicorbeenrid ingjacketsandmattressesand in both cases had a simple rectangular shape cut. Schematic ornaments of men’s clothing was folded soft cloth that fixed by using decorative stripes.Women dresses in most cases consist of various fabric parts without stitching. These large fabric parts are connecting by metal joints. Garments consists several parts that worn on each other to shape the final form. Using of various textiles, laces and decorative stripes and necklaces changes garment to a sophisticated form and variety of forms that origins from a basic simple shape.

Abstract:

In chevron and reversed chevron cross braces two members of bracing meet each other in the middle of the beam opening so out of balanced force obtained from difference between tensile and straining resistance of cross braces can have much effect on cyclic behavior of frame. There is one major problem in these frames, when whole construction's height is set in mechanism state, destruction total mechanism formation. In order to overcome this problem, last floor cross braces are designed in a way that when all the straining cross braces has buckled and sewing columns gave in, the structure would remain inelastic range. In designing sewing columns, designing method is applied upon capacity basis which this design method prevents plastic joints and complete rupture mechanism formation in beams. In this paper by studying seismic system behavior which named zipped frames, seismic resistance increase of structure and its absorption and energy distribution amount is being investigated by applying limited components software and along an appropriate (suitable) method introduction to achieve above objectives, it also will be determined (recognized) that as structure's height increases, behavior coefficient of zipped cluster piles also increases and continuously this coefficient is about 30% more than behavior coefficient of chevron cluster piles.
